Raising up Disciples
Going to Zambia in was one of the best things I’ve done in my life. As a part of Africa Freedom Mission, my team and I spent two weeks in Livingstone and two weeks in Lusaka. In Livingstone, we were welcomed into the Sianjina home, the leaders of JZone Africa. Sanderson and his wife, Lweendo, along with the JZone team have a true heart for the Great Commission and I am beyond blessed to have been apart of the ministry. The key thing about this ministry is not just meeting physical needs such as digging of wells and caring for children, but also true discipleship and teaching people about the God who created and loves them. I loved going out into the “bush” where we would visit small villages that many people would not know existed. Sanderson would drive our team to the villages to build up the current believers, engage with new believers, or reach the lost. During our trips to the bush we would share the Gospel, pray for the women and men, and teach the children stories of the Bible such as David and Goliath. The goal was to make disciples of Christ who could continue making disciples of Christ. I remember asking Sanderson for a few lessons of Tonga so I could try to speak to our new friends in their native language, in which they laughed, but also deeply appreciated because I was trying to speak directly to them. I may never get to see the seeds of faith planted on our trip, but I know JZone continues to minister and produce fruit. May the Lord continue to bless JZone as they continue doing work for the Kingdom of God.
