No longer bound

“During the Summer of 2021, I spent two weeks in Livingstone being hosted by Sanderson and his wonderful family. I had no idea what to expect during this time spent on mission, but God had greater plans than I could ever have imagined. Evangelism is the core of our Christian faith, and someone once told me we are left here on earth for the sole purpose of spreading the name of Jesus. “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” (2 Cor 5:20). I was comfortable living my life as an “Ordinary Christian,” that left evangelism to those who were “extraordinary Christians.” Being a part of Sanderson’s ministry opened my eyes to the hole that is in every heart, including my own, that is yearning to be filled by the love of Christ. Visiting the local villagers and feeling the Lord pull me to a life of ministry has taught me that this is for everyone. The work of the Kingdom did not end with the Apostles! And we are designed as his ambassadors to spread the good news that Jesus Christ died for our sins. I was completely immersed in my life before this point and I did not realize I would not have life if it were not for the sacrificial love of Jesus. Sanderson, Lweendo, Shannon, and Cheyenne not only hosted my and my missionary partner’s stay, but the love they have for Christ poured out onto me and reminded me how much my God loves me. I no longer was bound by the “Ordinary Christian’s” life that never went deeper than the shallow end of the pool. The Holy Spirit’s home is within our praise, within our hearts. Jesus did not leave us alone on earth, he sent his Spirit as our helper so that through Love, revival will awaken the dry bones! (Ez 37:1-10). I am so thankful that Sanderson said yes to the Lord, and through this yes, the Spirit redirected my life.”
